The weekly tarot guidance for 14th October to 20th October comes from the ‘Everyday Witch‘ tarot deck. The card is:
A Hierophant is a teacher of that which is sacred and holy, someone who explains the divine, the mysterious. In the traditional Rider Waite deck the Hierophant is depicted as a bishop. In this card she is a yoga teacher.
So the sacred and spiritual is part of everyday life. This teacher is showing and demonstrating. She’s not simply talking to them or dispensing knowledge. She is showing them by example. In fact it looks like her eyes are closed. So what this says to me is the importance of going within and learning to connect to yourself. Also learning how to be spiritual as a practical daily thing.
The message this week is to remember that you are spiritual. You are already a spiritual being. You are more than simply a physical body or operating from the mind. You are a soul incarnating in a body. So it’s not so much learning how to be spiritual as remembering your true nature. And essentially you are made from love. Love is who you are.
So this week contemplate the qualities of the divine, the qualities of love. Intangible aspects such as kindness, compassion, understanding, respect. Do as you would be done by. If you would not wish to receive anger, coldness, harshness, intolerance then why would it be ok for you to show that to another person? If you find yourself reacting or responding from anger then see how you can change that. That’s not to deny the energy of anger that may arise in you. Emotions act as a guide. So tune in to whatever arises within you. But that doesn’t mean acting from that emotion.
Being spiritual isn’t defined by any special activities or practices that you do. It’s how you are in the world. So that can be moment by moment, wherever you are, whatever is happening, whatever you’re doing. You can always remember who you are, you can always actively and consistently choose love.
